Background and Personality:

Nothing much is known about Kazahaya's past. He lived with a girl named Kei (his younger sister) in a secluded place and both children had to train hard (what for and what kind of training it was is unknown, but taking in account his abilities maybe some spiritual training). They didn’t go to school. He later runs away from home (reasons unknown). We don’t know what happened to his sister Kei. His past is shrouded is a mystery veil as well as Rikou’s.
However because he had run out of money and didn’t have a place to stay he almost froze to death in the middle of the streets on Christmas eve. He is found by Rikuou Himura and is taken in by Kakei. Kakei gives him a place to stay (which he shares with Rikuou) and a job at the drugstore he runs, the Green Drugstore. Aside from his job at the pharmacy he also does side jobs for Kakei. These ‘other jobs’ are often dangerous and related to the supernatural because of Kazahaya’s and Rikuou’s abilities. Kazahaya often finds himself being saved by Rikuou who he finds annoying due to the constant teasing.

Kazahaya possesses supernatural abilities. He has a power which is something like psychometry in that he can see the "memories" of things or persons when he touches them; he may also possess some empathic ability as he seems capable of absorbing emotions as well as memories, and on at least one occasion has channeled the present visual perspective of another person (Rikuo).

Kazahaya is a very expressive person, if he's not saying what he's thinking anyone can tell by his facial expressions. Sometimes he can act like a child (he loves festivals and always eats taking big bites) and Rikuou likes to tease him because of that. Kazahaya is very naive (second intentions pass right through him, which Kakei takes advantages of) and he gets flustered really easily, he's also very kind and always tries to help everyone he knows. He's not very smart, he can't cook very well and he can't swim.
He lets his emotions get the best of him (which enhances the teasing from others, mainly Rikuou.
